Sameena Zehra: In Progress
Part of NZ Fringe 2026
I love a catchy show title. I've been collecting them forever.
Some have potential; some are clearly 3am half-asleep-reaching-for-the-notebook-by-my-bedside-often-completely-unreadable-in-the-morning unhinged drivel. Which to make into shows, which ones to chuck in the bin? (where the current coalition of dunces should be tbh). Coalition of dunces, lol. Wait, ffs, is that ANOTHER show title?
This is getting out of control.
We've got 55 minutes to sort out how to stop hoarding all the useless things in our lives.
Here's things people have said about other shows I have made...don't take them too seriously, it's just individuals, with individual opinions. You might have different ones (but you'll have to come to the show to find out):
“Astonishing, and frequently violent...” - The Independent, UK
“Funny, fiery, brave and true.” - Herald, Scotland
“Humour in every strand” - The Latest, Brighton
“Fluency, intensity and vivacity...” - The Age, Melbourne
“... smart and sharp... a breath of fresh air...” - Nicholas Holm, The Post, NZ
“ ... the wittiest and sassiest lady I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Move over Kitty Flanagan.” - Buzzcut, Perth
(Honestly, this one's a bit over the top- Kitty Flanagan is amazing and absolutely not moving over for anyone)
This show is KOHA on the door (all kinds of koha welcome... money, brownies, socks, a hastily scribbled poem... use your imagination!), or book in advance below to secure your seats.
Content notes:
This show is accessible to Blind/Low Vision folks without audio description.
No loud noises or flashing lights. I will occasionally raise my voice
Adult content and coarse language. It’s work in progress, so I may sail close to the wind in terms of pushing boundaries. The show is generally relaxed for the audience- earplugs and fidgets will be available, and you are welcome to bring your own. You are encouraged to practice self care by stepping away if needed, returning if and when desired, being mindful of the rest of the audience who are still in the room.
Some direct chat with the audience- if you look away or shake your head, I will not speak to you.
Queer friendly.
