A local community faces an influx of sinister invaders: pigeons! An anti-pigeon task force forms to deal with the avian scourge. But how should the committee combat these rats with wings? It's up to the audience to decide in this interactive satirical comedy.
Nadia Freeman is of Pākehā and Indo-Fijian heritage. Her creative work spans experimental performance, poetry, and theatre. She is the writer of Eat These Words (Kia Mau Festival 2021), Another Universe (Aotearoa International Festival of Arts 2022), and The Girmit which toured festivals across Aotearoa and India. Nadia also hosts poetry music segment Spoken Symphonies on RadioActive.fm, is Chair of the Eastern Artists Connection network for Asian artists, and produced the 2024 Taite Award-winning podcast Eastern Sound Stories.
Nadia is supported in this reading by dramaturg Lynda Chanwai-Earle, director Sameena Zehra and comedy consultant Jerome Chandrahasen. Clay Pigeons features performers Oliver Pol, Phoebe Caldeiro, Elliott Lam, Ralph Johnson, Ocean Manutulila and Jerome Chandrahasen.
