Part of Pōneke Festival of Contemporary Dance

The Pōneke Festival of Contemporary Dance opens with a collective gathering of movement at The Hannah Playhouse. An open invitation to participate, witness and begin the festival together.

This improvised movement sharing brings together dancers, artists and movement practitioners from across Pōneke. Part performance, part meeting place, this open event celebrates coming together through movement, participation and exchange. Audiences are welcome to witness the unfolding improvisation or join the space themselves.

Featuring live music by Dream Chambers! Dream Chambers is a multifaceted musical artist and composer for film and television. She works primarily with modular synthesizers and voice to craft evocative, immersive sound worlds. Her music has been described as visceral and transcendent, carrying an almost spiritual fervour, where patterns of melody refract and brim over toward the ineffable.
