Wellington Heritage Festival

The Hannah Playhouse is a Category 1 historic building, originally designed to be the home of the Downstage Theatre Company. Since her inception, The Hannah has championed local actors, directors and playwrights. The Hannah embraces experimentation through its adaptive design and support of theatre development. While the Hannah has been the backdrop to hundreds of innovative productions, she is also an ‘architectural’ star in her own right.
