Experience the Chinese language in song

The Chinese song competition is organised by the Confucius Institute at Victoria University of Wellington to encourage interest in Chinese language and culture among New Zealand students and to give them an opportunity to showcase their awesome singing talents. The final is being held during 2019 New Zealand Chinese Language Week.

The competition was video-based in the preliminary round. A total of 54 videos were submitted for this year's competition. With so many fantastic video submissions, it was a really tough decision for our selection panel. Eight groups/solo acts were chosen from Category I (Year 1-8) and Category II (Year 9-13)  to participate in the private Grand Final at Hannah Playhouse, Wellington on the 24th of September, where they will perform their songs on stage!

Competition:

  • Tuesday 24 September, 2.15pm

Prices*: Attendance is by invitation. If you are interested in attending email the Confucius Institute at Victoria University of Wellington

Performance duration approx. 1 hour (no interval). Latecomers will be seated when appropriate. See Ticketing T&Cs for the Hannah's policies on phones, photos and large items
