Theatre New Zealand TheatreFest National Finals

Theatre New Zealand fosters and mentors community and youth groups in all aspects of theatre. This includes performance, production, staging, design and script writing, through workshops and an annual TheatreFest. The annual TheatreFest is a three tier Festival in which groups progress from a local Festival to four Regional Festivals and the 6 to 8 presentations are chosen to perform at the TheatreFest National Final, this year being held in Wellington.

There will be theatre groups from all around the country participating as well as a guest appearance from a the winner of the annual Sunshine Coast, Queensland TheatreFest. Festivals are devoted to the improvement of theatre standards by providing each participating group an assessment of its work in respect of theatre skills and technique as well as offering constructive feedback as well as helping the audience to a fuller understanding of the presentation. Festivals are also about encouragement, friendship, learning, sharing and communicating.

And although they are competitive, winning is by no means the sole purpose of entering as they provide opportunities to observe one's peers, to learn through performance and education, and the enrichment of meeting other participants and groups.

The performance schedule will be added once confirmed
